Topic:
Areal operations (merge) - Areal merge dialog interaction failed.
Description:
Areal merge dialog interaction failed
Error copying a horizon.
Error performing the requested surface operation.
Source or destination horizon is missing SNAP attribute.
This happens when the horizon has more than 8 attributes. Cannot do Areal copy
merge or Areal merge operations.
In areal merge, if the top selected horizon has less than 8 attributes(including
the SNAP attribute) and the bottom horizon has more than 8 attributes, then the
merge will complete sucessfully. But if you have 3 horizons, it will still fail
regardless if the first horizon has less than 8 attributes.
Solution:
Workaround is to merge the horizon that take precedence to a clone project,
update the name in the clone to match the one you want to merge with and merge
back (if they want to keep all the attributes).
Can export/import if you only want time/amplitude and 3 more attributes. Export
the horizon that take presendence and use the overwrite function in Import and
select the horizon you want to merge it with. You will have to export several
times to receive all the attributes into files for import.
