Topic:
Error during SEGY write - "fatal unrecoverable error while computing ...".
Description:
Tried writing tape to a disk file and the file IESX was writing exceeded the
2 GB file size limit.
Solution:
Try loading the data from tape.
The file on the tape will be more than 2 GB in size. UNIX - Solaris version
2.5.x does not allow you to have files more than 2 GB in size.
The software can handle data coming in that is more than 2 GB, as long as you
have given it another DSL to span to.
Once it has loaded a 2.1 GB VVOL to the DSL it will NOT span to that DSL again,
even if the disk is larger than 2 GB.
In order to use the larger disk, you can move VVOL's back to the seismic DSL(s)
through DataManager > Utilities > Move files.
