Error breaking interpretation: Cannot find brick buffer, No space on the dsl
Description:
User tries to break interpretation and receives:
Error breaking interpretation
Cannot find brick buffer
No space on the dsl
Solution:
Most likely, the problem is due to lack of disk space on one of the project
DSL's (data storage locations), or inaccessability to the DSL due to network
and/or permission problems.
The sequence of items that should be checked:
1. Make sure that the data storage location (DSL) has space available.
You can check this by going into Session Manager > Project >
Update. Select your project, and all the dsl's associated with your
project and their amount of disk space will list. Verify that the DSLs
on the list contain sufficient disk space.
2. To check permissions on the disk, open an xterm, and enter 'cd /path/to
project/dsl' (where '/path/to/project/dsl' is the DSL(s) associated to
the project. Do 'ls -l | more' and verify the permissions on the files in
the DSL(s). If they need to be opened further, enter 'chmod 777 *' to
change the permissions to open on all the files on the DSL(s).
3. Exit IESX and return into a new session (i.e. DO NOT HIT CONTINUE button
after entering the project name and password)
4. Delete any unused seismic classes of data
DataManager > Utilities > Delete
a. Toggle Item Type to Seismic Classes;
b. Highlight any classes that appear under the unused seismic classes
box;
c. Delete.
5. Rebuild the Index files under iesx_utils (#12):
a. Make certain to have a backup of the project;
b. Back out of the IESX project;
c. Launch IESX_UTIL from the IESX Application Selection menu > Select
type by release > select release level > select iesx_util.csh >
Start;
d. Type 1 (Initialize access to a data area) > type in project name and
password > type 1 for Exploration, and hit return;
e. Type 12 (Rebuild index files), and enter the path to a disk with
temporary space;
f. When finished > Type 2 (Terminate Access to a data area)
> Type 99 (Exit iesx_util).
