Topic:
Well information posts at different times in Synthetics vs. SeisDV.

Description:

Solution:
In SeisDV: Data are posted in time with time zero representing the seimic reference elevation (set in Session Manager->Project->Update->Projection). Depth to time conversions are performed using interval velocities calculated from the DVT. In Synthetics: In the main Synthetics window: Data in tracks are posted in time with the time zero representing the seismic reference elevation. For tracks inside the synthetic panel: Depth to time conversions are performed using interval velocities calculated from the sonic log (slowness). Depth values that fall at or above the first depth value in the sonic are converted to time using the interval velocity calculated from the first slowness value in the sonic. For tracks outside the synthetic panel: Depth to time conversions are performed using interval velocities calculated from the checkshot (DVT). In the Velocity Survey window: Data are posted in time with time zero representing the depth at time zero of the checkshot (i.e., time reference elevation that is set in Session Manager->Applications->Data Manager->(Wells)Time/Depth). In general, if the sonic log is calibrated and the calibrated sonic is saved as the preferred checkshot (selected), then the user will notice no posting discrepancy (Synthetics, SeisDV, etc.).
