"Fseek failed : Bad file number" error trying to plot from IESX
Description:
The user does one plot or two plots with no problems and then executes a third
and gets the following error in the xterm from which IESX was executed from:
Undetermined I/O error
""
""
"This error is repeated many times after which the follow occurs"
Fseek failed: Bad file number
Fseek failed: Bad file number
CGM file name is - /sunj/work/pltwk/east_reg_yay_21.cgm (this file has zero
blocks)
CGM file name is - /sunj/work/pltwk/east_reg_yay_21.log (Reports plot was
successfull)
Once this error occurs the user must exit IESX entirely and start over.
Solution:
This error message can be caused if the user specifies an illegal file name
(e.g. well+seismic). IESX tries to rename the file by replacing the illegal
character with an _. The resultant cgm file has zero bytes, and the message
"undetermined I/O error" occurs in the log file. Even if subsequent plots are
renamed, the problem may persist.
