Topic:
Could not create horizontal or updip deviation record.
Description:
Could not create horizontal or updip deviation record error when loading
a deviation survey for a well. If deviation survey is entered manually in
'DataManager > Wells > Wells', it will display this error message. If loading
from a file in 'DataManager > Wells > Load Wells', error will be display in the
wldr*.log file located in the user's home directory, and usually will not
receive a message saying that the well was loaded successfully and nothing
will be loaded.
Solution:
1.) Check to be sure the xy values and the md values are in the same units.
2.) Check to be sure all of the values increment or decrement consistently.
The program reads in one x/y/z triplet and then the next. It takes the
differences of those values. Then it squares the x and y values, and takes
the square root of the sum. The difference of the measured depth z value
must be greater than the square root of the sums in order for it to be
considered a valid deviation survey.
GeoFrame 3.1 supports loading and displaying horizontal and updip boreholes.
