Description:
Error posting boreholes in Basemap: 
    dat_well_symbol_table_read; 
    fopen failure on /.../.../well_symbols.txt.  

Solution:
Most likely, the software is running with an old catalog (GeoFrame 3.0).  This happens when user forgets to run updatecatalog.csh after importing back a deleted catalog.

Run the updatecatalog.csh script to update the catalog to that of GeoFrame 3.1. 
  
          In a GeoFrame xterm window: 
          >setenv BASELINE_PWD your_baseline_password 
             (default baseline account password = GF3_0) 
          >cd $GF_PATH/bin 
          >updatecatalog.csh 

Availability and access permission of the well_symbols.txt file may cause the same error.
