Topic:
Trying to export interpretation to a file and nothing exports.
Description:
Trying to export interpretation to a file using IESX DataManager. The interpretation exports and ends successfully but the file is virtually empty with only a few header cards.
Solution:
This happens if you don't have TIME attribute for the specified horizon. Interpretation export only works when TIME attribute is present, otherwise other attributes are ignored. A possible workaround is to create a bogus TIME attribute. 1.) Use MapView to read in data for one of the attributes to be exported (with the widest areal extent). 2.) Save this attribute as TIME, either through: a.) XYZ points save, without gridding, or, b.) Use surface cuts after gridding - depending on circumstances. 3.) Proceed with interpretation export. Normally you have TIME attribute and do not experience this problem, but sometimes this situation arises after grid import into IESX from an external file or using applications developed with Developers Kit (DK) such as SeisExtract.
