Search Type: Error
Topic:
Unable to Initialize Data Area.
Description:
GF3.1.2 IESX > Data Manager > Interpretation > Merge
Select a project - enter the password.
The CPU useage becomes high as IESX attempts to connect to the other project,
then after quite a long time it
comes up with the error message:
Unable to Initialize Data Area.
Solution:
The reference to data area is referring to the IESX_CONFIG
The most likely of situations are permissions for IESX_CONFIG are not correct.
Exit the project
Start a GeoFrame xterm and enter the command da_clear
Do you see the list of your projects?
cd $IESX_CONFIG and do a ls -al and check permissions on this directory and
the da_info* and iesx_dev* files.
Alternatively, the problem could be permissions on the project.da file, or
that the project.da does not even exist.
