Topic:
IESX Session Manager menus are grayed out for a new user.
Description:
Solution:
1.) Check that the setup files (IESX, GQS) from /home/gqs/setup_10px have been
copied to the user's home directory or to /usr/openwin/lib/app-defaults for
solaris or /usr/lib/X11/app-defaults for SGI.
2.) Execute a script called iesxcopy.sh located in the /home/gqs/setup_10px
directory. This script copies the GeoQuest default environment files
(.cshrc, .login, etc) to the user's home directory. The script will make
copies of the original files. Be sure to uncomment the appropriate GN_DIR
variable in the .cshrc to reflect the correct Geonet path. (Copy the GN_DIR
path from the saved .cshrc.
3.) Log out and log back in. If the menus are still grayed out, check to make
sure there are enough licenses. Check licenses by:
a) Rlogin to license server.
b) Change directory (cd) to the Flexlm/bin dir. To find out where the Flexlm
directory is, cd to /home/gqs/setup_ies and look for the environment
variable 'setenv LM_LICENSE_FILE' and 'more' the license.dat file. Look
for the DAEMON line. This is the path to the Flexlm/bin directory.
c) Type lmstat -a -c /path to license.dat Example: lmstat -a -c /home/gqs/
ies_iesx_license/licencs.dat
If command will not execute and does not display anything, call GeoQuest
