Topic:
Fatal error starting map task message.

Description:
There are several variations of this error message:

1) Trying to continue a saved session and get error message:
Fatal error starting map task
Possible causes:  Disk space and/or file protections
Lack of color resources
Lack of memory or swap space
Unable to create spectra color

2) Trying to launch basemap:
fatal error starting map task
Disk space and /or file protection problems
lack of color resolves
basemap failure to initialise current state information
bad units code was found
         

Solution:
1) Saved session is corrupt. Start a new session by click on IESX in the
Seismic Catalog and then clicking on the Dual Monitor icon at the upper
right of the window.

2) Projection for project is either absent, incorrect, or corrupt. Create or 
select a projection in Project Manager.
