Topic:
Appearance layers are missing from the Layer Management Box.

Description:
In User -> Layer Management, one or more of the Appearance layers are missing
from the Layer Management Box.

Solution:
The maps have become corrupted, you must delete the map and remake a new one.
You can delete the maps in either Basemap or IESX Data Manager.  In Basemap 
-> Delete Map -> Highlight the map and click Ok or Apply and Cancel.  In IESX
Data Manager/Map -> Delete -> Highlight the map, toggle on Delete Selected Maps
Only and click on Delete then Close.  If all your maps have been deleted, close
Basemap and upon opening it again, you will be prompted to make a new map,
default geophysical or geological.  If you did not delete all your maps and
wish to make a new map, go to Basemap -> File -> Manage Map, click on New,
put in a new name, choose the content and either use the default Appearance 
or copy from another map.  After this is done, click OK or Apply and Cancel.
