Topic:
Spectrum wraps when color-shaded contour interval yields more than 65 contours.
Description:
For grids with small contour intervals, the color spectrum appears to wrap in the display. This can lead to misrepresentation of features if the user is not aware of the reasons for this wrap.
Solution:
The color display in the posted spectrum bar wraps because the number of contour values is greater than 65. To prevent the wrapping, the number of contours can be reduced by changing the contour interval. Or the user can display the grid and contours in CPS-3. If CPS-3 is not an option, wrapping can only be prevented by limiting the number of displayed contours to less than 65.
