Topic:
How does the correlation picking algorithm work in AutoPix?
Description:
Solution:
The Correlation picking method performs a cross-correlation on adjacent traces. The correlation window is centered at the position of the horizon pick on the current (source) trace. The correlation window is computed for each correlation using a proprietary algorithm based on the frequency content of each trace. The correlation is controlled by the user-specified Quality Factor. The default is 0.5. Increasing this number makes the picking stricter, while reducing the number relaxes the picking constraints. A value of 1.0 represents an identical correlation.
