Topic:
Why are well paths not showing on seismic?
Description:
The basemap shows the deviated paths, but none of the well paths are showing up
on the seismic section.
Solution:
In order for a well path to post on the seismic section it must meet the
following criteria:
1) The well must have a well path:
Application -> DataManager -> Wells -> Wells (select a well) ->
Deviation survey
Enter at least two xyz triplets into the menu and click the 'Update' button
2) If the well contains a well path in depth, the well must have an associated
DVT (depth-velocity-time) relationship. To associate a DVT to a well:
Application -> DataManager -> Wells -> Well + T/D
Select a well at the upper left corner of the menu
Select a time-depth relationship at the upper right corner of the menu
Click on the down arrow in the central part of the menu
Click on the Update button at the bottom of the menu
3) In the seismic window, under Define -> Well Appearance -> Vertical, the
'Well path' toggle must be turned on under the 'Well display parameters'
section of the menu.
NOTE: The well path (depth) will only display on the seismic where there is
an overlap of the well path and the DVT.
