Topic:
Why are some 2D lines not sharing?
Description:
2D lines in the master seismic project are fine. I share the 2D to a clone
project and some of the seismic will not share, why?
Solution:
Those that will not share, in some cases, have navigation SP ranges that do not
match the seismic or have multiple entries in the Renumber 2D table in
DataManager.
Check
=====
1.) Make sure the SP's match EXACTLY what the seismic range is, or go to the
iesx_util.csh and run the following options:
#1 - Initialize access to a data storage area.
Input projectname and password.
Select Exploration as data area.
#37 - Shotpoint table scanner: removes anomalously high values for ending
SP numbers.
#38 - Extrapolation of xy coordinates: Extrapolates location data from
end(s) of a seismic line in 2D surveys.
#39 - Compression of shotpoint tables: Compresses multiple SP tables for a
given 2D line to one single SP table for the line. If the Renumber 2D
table has multipule entries (in most cases, it should only have 1), it
will delete all but the first one. The first entry may not be a good
one, you will need to check a few lines to see this.
#2 - Terminate access to a data area.
#99 - Exit iesx_util.
2.) If a line is renumbered, the line must be retied in the master in order
to be shared. DataManager > Map > 2D line location ==> pick the survey the
line is in, select the 2D line that you deleted a SP from, click on any SP,
press the 'Change' button and the line will retie.
Or, if you have many lines that need to be retied, you can use:
iesx_util > option 72 > General 2D Data Management > Action 13, 'Generate
line ties' to retie all lines. Warning, this can take a long time depending
on how large your 2D survey is.
