Why doesn't the amplitude in the surface slice change polarity when the seismic
display specs are changed to reverse polarity?  

Solution:
In both amplitude and time displays the surface slices show only what has been
selected in Define> SurfaceSlece> Event (for example peak or trough). On a
surface slice, the "direction of deflection" is all that is displayed, rather than the 
polarity/amplitude information shown on a conventional time slice.
