How does trend/residual algorithm differ from either trend or residual 
algorithm?

Solution:
It is a special option that takes the results of trend and residual gridding and
combines them for display purposes.  A "trend" grid with "residual" contours or
vise versa.  This display is useful to compare and analyze the validity of
Trend or Residual results.
