How does tubular extraction work?
Description:
Solution:
Tubular extraction builds the trace by extracting samples from a time volume. The process involves converting the deviation survey from depth to time domain (using the sonic log) and then traveling down the borehole at the seismic volumes sample rate and extracting seismic data sample by sample. It uses bi-linear interpolation of neighboring traces if the borehole doesn't pass through a given trace bin.
