How does "scaling" log data differ from "rescaling"?

Description:
Under LPView > Log Preparation > Edit Log > Keyboard Edit there is a 'Scale' #5
 and a 'Rescale Curve Data' #13 option.  What is the difference?

Solution:
 Scale #5 allows multiplication and addition of a single log.  Rescale Curve
 Data #13 allows you to alter the scale value by changing the right and left
 scale value, shifting the entire log left or right horizontally.
