What does Option #72: 2D General Data Manager do?
Description:
Solution:
This option allows the user to manage certain kinds of 2D data and to generate reports. 1.) Generate a report on surveys or lines with the options of specifying format and output destination. Formats can be short, long, or navigation. 2.) Generate or delete line ties. This can take a long time and should not be interupted. 3.) Delete location information from selected lines. 4.) Print (display to screen) a list of selected surveys and lines. 5.) Change degree of tolerance to a user-defined value. The default tolerance is 0.5. The range of values is 0.0 - 0.5 with up to 7 decimal places. The default is an issue when the line is always turning slowly in the same direction; in this case, the straight-line representation deteriorates with distance from the first loaded point. When navigation is loaded into an IESX project, it is filtered to remove points that may lie along a straight line. Two separate checks are made to see if the line is straight; if either of the following equations is true, the point is seen as a turning point. Two separate checks are made to see if the line is straight; one is the filter tolerance and the other is the distance between the first and last point that reaches a 100 (hard coded value) feet or meters, then a new line is drawn. Mostly a problem with metric projects. 6.) Action #15 Fix bad j values for 2d_lines was added in IESX_UTIL version 10.2.1. This problem occurred when there were missing CDPs on the original SEGY file/tape and the CDPs were padded (integrity check set to CDP) when loading the seismic. This option repairs offending 2D lines that were loaded in IESX 10.0/10.1. The loading problem was corrected in IESX 10.2. Examples of results of bad "j" values for 2D lines include: - A roll to the bad line from another line in the same 2D survey causes half the seismic to appear as null traces. - You are unable to export interpretation; the log file says "Bad 2d line." - You are unable to run Computation Manager on these "bad" lines. The error is "Bad survey extent." PROCEDURE: 1.) Option #1 - Initialize access to data area - Enter the project name and password - Enter #1 to access exploration data area type 2.) Option #72 - 2D General data manager Select lines or actions: Lines Actions 0 - Select format of report 10 - Generate report 1 - Select destination of output 11 - Change tolerance 2 - Select survey 12 - Delete location information 3 - Select lines 13 - Generate line ties 4 - Print selected lists 14 - Delete line ties 5 - Delete from selected lists 15 - Fix bad j values for 2d_lines 99 - Terminate 2D reporting 3.) Option #2 - Terminate access to the data area 4.) Option #99 - Exit IESX_Utilities
