Topic:
Padded dead traces after converting from IES to IESX
Description:
Seismic lines contain dead traces at the end of the lines after project conversion.
Solution:
Check converted lines for interpretation posting beyond the end of the seismic. - Seis2DV/3DV > post all interpretation If required, interpretation can be deleted from IESX - DataManager > Interpretation > Delete - Change area > Set range of dead traces/unrequired interpretation only If all interpretation has been deleted from the padded traces the seismic can be 'shrunk' back to contatin only live traces. - IESX_UTIL > Option 51 > Adjust Exploration Object Extent This problem can be caused by shotpoint renumbering in IESX, after transfer of seismic, but before transfer of interpretation or wrong interpretation being converted. For example, a line could exist in 2 different projects but with different shotpoint range or numbering. If a different project is selected to transfer the interpretation to that from which the seismic is transferred traces will be padded into the seismic to accomodate the shotpoint range of the interpretation.
