What is the difference between a fault boundary set and a fault boundary?
Description:
What is the difference between a fault boundary set and a fault boundary?
Solution:
A fault boundary represents the gap between the upthrown and downthrown sides of
a faulted horizon on the basemap.
A fault boundary set contains all or some of the fault boundaries for a
particular horizon.
Notes:
A Fault Boundary CANNOT be moved from one set to another. Use care in choosing
which horizon to store a boundary set under and which boundary set is active to
digitize a boundary in.
Fault Boundary sets must be set to Preferred to be used in other applications
(e.g. ASAP).
1. Basemap > Define > Fault Boundaries > Create set
2. Select horizon
3. Highlight Fault Boundary
4. Click on Set Preferred
Before any fault boundaries can be digitized and displayed, a Fault Boundary set
must be created and posted.
Fault Boundary sets for one horizon can be posted with a different horizon.
