What is the difference of rolling locked view independently vs synchronously?

Description:
        

Solution:
The lock feature can be used to roll multiple views of lines as a group 
or by themselves.

For example, you are currently displaying locked views of lines 1,2,3,4 
(with their lock icons checked) and the roll increment is set to 1.  If roll 
locked view synchronously is set in User>Lock menu, lines 5,6,7,8 will 
display after you click on the roll icon;  If you set to roll locked views 
independently, lines 2,3,4,5 will display instead.
