What is the purpose of the Integrity Check?
Description:
What is the purpose of the Integrity check location button in Define input data format?
Solution:
The purpose of the integrity check is to verify that all traces are placed in their proper relative position in the line, even in the presence of tape read errors. The increment of the value specified here is checked and variations from the increment will result in the traces being padded or dropped. When the parameter is set to CDP, A1, A2, or A3, the system will check to see that this value is the expected number and increments by the required value. If set to CDP, A1, A2 or A3, and a gap is detected, a dead trace is inserted. If a duplicate trace is detected, it will not be loaded. If set to bypass, loading ignores what the increment is and loads the data as is.
