What does Option #12: Rebuild Index do?
Description:
Solution:
The option #12 utility is useful in fixing projects with interpretation errors
received in SeisDV. Running option #12 takes less time than option #22. Rebuild
interpretation (which does a rebuild index too) and could fix the problem
without having to do option #22.
1. Make sure you have a current backup of the project before proceeding with
running option #12, rebuild index files.
2. Check project DSLs for appropriate disk space. Project and Interpretation
DSLs should NOT be at 100%! Do not proceed with rebuild if this is the
case.
3. Check project DSLs for appropriate permissions. Should be rw-rw-r on all
directories and files.
4. Make sure the key files (example vvol_key.dat, .fpb, .idx) that compliment
the *.disp, *surf, and *.vvol files are located on the same DSL. Otherwise,
possible corruption could occur.
NOTE:Large projects with lots of interpretation could take a long time should
NEVER be aborted while running this option.
PROCEDURE:
1.) Option #1 - Initialize access to data area.
- Enter the project name and password.
- Select Exploration as Data Area Type.
2.) Option #12 - Rebuild Index files.
*Note: You must enter the path for a temporary directory here. The
approximate space required is the total space currently use by the
*.fpb, *idx, and *.dat files in the directory containing the IESX
*.idx files to be rebuilt.
3.) Option #2 - Terminate access to the data area.
4.) Option #99 - Exit IESX_Utilities.
