General description of 3D seimic loading sequence?

Description:

Solution:
1. Create a project. 2. Examine the tapes (SEG-Y dump deveral traces to verify the following): Is the tape readable? Is the line name present? Is the sp number present and in what header location? Is the sp increment positive or negative? Is the sp increment less than one? Is the sample rate correct ( should be in microseconds)? Are the individual seismic files separated by EOF's? Are the seismic lines of equal length? Is the number of samples correct? 3. Check what the projection of the 3 points that define the project is. Does it match the project's projection? If not, you can still load the data with these points, however you will need to make sure that under the button marked Define Input Format..., you select the correct projection under the Survey projection ... button that matches these 3 points' projection. 4. Test load several 3D lines. 5. Enter Seis3DV and display a few lines. Check to see if the lines begin and end at the correct traces. If traces were padded, was it done correctly? Verify the integrity of the seismic trace data. Display a few crosslines. 6. Enter Basemap. Select and display several lines (inlines and cross-line) from the Basemap. Define a traverse on the Basemap. Check the geometry of the Basemap. Verify that the x,y coordinates for the map are correct. 7. Verify with a contractor map that the survey sits in the same x,y/lat,long location as the IESX projects survey. 8. Load the remainder of the survey. Note: You may wish to determine the disk space requirements for the survey before loading. There is a utility in iesx_util that will do this.
