Why is the depth/time scale different within and outside of a synthetics panel?

Solution:
The depth/time scale and all log curves displayed within a synthetics
 panel(outlined in red) use the DVT relationship derived from the 
 sonic curve inside the synthetic panel. 

The depth/time scale and all log curves and markers displayed outside of
a synthetics panel use the DVT relationship derived from the DVT associated
with the well created and associated in the DataManager.

If you want these all to match up you have to have your preferred DVT of the 
well created from the sonic curve used to generate the synthetic seismogram.
