Why is seismic display blank when using survey as source in gain control ?

Description:
Using Survey, or Class as the source in gain control will sometimes result in a
blank seismic display.
 

Solution:
Using Survey or Class as the source in gain control will scale data displayed
with the survey or class rms.

Check the Amplitude statistics report :

 Datamanager > Seismic > Report > select survey and class > Seismic data report

An anomalous value, maybe due to a spike in the data will bias the Reference
Value used to set the scale.

Displaying 3d data with source set to survey in gain control, is a useful way to
check the rms of a 3d survey prior to generating time slices which are displayed
using the survey rms.
