Topic:
Why can't I set the start and end cdp on the reference seismic line in the Synthetic layout?

Description:
When in the synthetics application, the user clicks MB3 > Content in the reference seismic track of the layout. However, the 'Start cdp' and 'End cdp' options are desensitized when selecting any line type other than 'Traverse'. How does one define the start and end cdps desired for display for lines other than traverses?

Solution:
The 'Define extent' options will become sensitized only when selecting a line type of 'Traverse'. When selecting a line type of 'Traverse' you can define the starting and ending traces for display in the seismic track. If you want to define a range of traces for a line type other than 'Traverse', you can do so in the track appearance menu. To do so, click MB3 > Track appearance in the reference seismic track of the layout. The 'Seismic track appearance' menu will open and allow you to enter the number of traces before and after. **Note: In defining the range of traces, you are defining the number of traces before and after the point where the well surface location is projected perpendicularly onto the selected line. (Negative values can be used.)
