How are Optimal trace and Optimal time values created for Deterministic method?
Description:
Solution:
The optimal trace location is computed automatically at the trace location that
produces the maximum correlation energy (amplitude envelope of the
cross-spectrum of the reflectivity and every seismic trace). This option is
displayed graphically when you click on the correlation option in the Wavelet
extraction dialog box. You can override this automatically-selected location
and specify the desired location for the wavelet extraction. If you change the
pick, this field reflects the user's select and not the computed location.
The optimal time value is computed automatically as the correlation lag that
exhibits the maximum correlation energy (amplitude envelope of the
cross-spectrum of the reflectivity and each tested seismic trace). The
correlation display option shows this location graphically. You may override
the automatically-picked lag and specify the lag you wish to use for the
wavelet extraction.
