What does "Tubular extraction" do?
Description:
Solution:
Tubular extraction is used to generate single or multiple seismic trace volume along a borehole path.
Reasons for using:
1- To generate a seismic trace along a bore path for a well, save it, and then
display it in either Seis3DV/2DV, GeoViz or Synthetics.
2- To generate any number of composite traces around a deviated bore hole and
extract a wavelet from the "tubular volume" or display the data in a
reference seismic track in Synthetics.
If you choose to extract a single seismic trace, you are given the opportunity to save it was a log curve or synthetic.
If you choose to extract multiple seismic traces you will be extracting a volume
that you can then also extract a wavelet from. This is useful with deviated
wells. It will more closely represent the characteristics of the seismic along
the deviated path of the well bore. Once this volume has been saved, you can use
it as a referenced seismic in Synthetics.
