"The selected class has different survey extent than the existing survey"
Description:
You may receive the following warning message after trying to share seismic:
"The selected class has different survey extent than the existing survey.
If origin or spacing is different the seismic data will be misplaced.
Do you wish to continue?"
Solution:
When you share seismic volumes, the IESX data manager attempts to verify
that the shared class has the same survey origin, inline and crossline
spacing as class(es) already present in this project. It is doing this
because IESX internally uses survey coordinates (i,j) to work with
seismic data, so it is trying to make sure that survey origins -
line and cdp number corresponding to (i,j) - are identical.
To find out what the origin is, use the "Seismic Report" function in the data
manager. If origins for both surveys are in fact different, it is NOT
a good idea to proceed with sharing as the seismic will be misplaced.
Another reason for this message is when the cdp or line ranges are different
from the master project. Different line, cdp or shotpoint numbers and
increments will also cause this.
