NEW FEATURES
1) Variance Cube: Variance Cube is a newly licensed feature designed to
highlight incoherent data. The effect of this is to make the faults and
subtle stratigraphic features more pronounced. Variance cube computes the
squared difference from the mean value at a constant time.
. Variance Cube is for 3D only.
. The parameters are Window length, Inline Range and Crossline Range.
The Inline and Crossline range are the number of traces to look in either
direction. A value of 3 would be the center trace and one trace on each
side if the center for a total of 3 traces. Using 3+3 would use 3 traces
in the Inline direction and 3 traces in the Crossline direction. 3x3
would use a square with 3 traces on a side. Values of 3 and 5 generally
yield reasonable results. Larger values will tend to smear the data.
The Window Length is used to reduce coherent signal. Too large a window
will smear the data and too short a window will leave coherent data. The
default parameters of 3x3 and 100 ms window generally yield good results.
Increasing the trace range perpendicular to the fault may highlight the
fault slightly better.
2) Computed Seismic Attributes: Combo Attribute: An "Export All to ASCII"
option has been added to the functionality of CSA.
. This allows the user to export all of the CSA attributes to an ASCII file
created in your home directory.
