Topic:
How can I query for all boreholes in a borehole set that have some attributes
Description:
In projects containing many boreholes, it may be quicker to limit a query to boreholes in a set, rather than the whole project. There is no direct way to set the data focus to a borehole set, but below is a workaround.
Solution:
This example will find all boreholes in a certain borehole set that are deeper than 10,000 ft. 1. Open the General Data Manager and expand by collection. (Application Manager>Data>Data Managers>double click General>use MB3 to expand by type>collection). You will see all of your borehole sets. Double click on the borehole set of choice. This brings up the Collection Editor. 2. In the Collection Editor select all the elements (click the icon that looks like a list, or alternately, use the control key with MB1 to select the boreholes one at a time). At the bottom of this window open the door. 3. Click Basemap>Edit>Borehole Sets>Create Set From List. This brings up the Manage Borehole Sets window. 4. Click the query tool icon to bring up the Query Tool and open the door at the bottom of the window. 5. Now, go back to the Collection Editor and click the broadcast button near the door to send these wells to the data focus in the Query Tool window. If the boreholes in this collection are already posted on Basemap you should see them highlighted, and also now listed in the query window at the top or data focus area. 6. In the Query Tool>highlight the radio button red and toggle to 'deeper than' >type in 10000>toggle to ft>add clause. The text in the box on this window should read: Find all Borehole deeper than 10000 ft. Click ok or apply. The Manage Borehole Sets window is now populated with only the boreholes deeper than 10000 ft from that borehole set.
