Topic:
Where are GeoFrame default interpretation import/export format files stored?

Description:
Project default format files can be inadvertently deleted or overwritten when defining a user defined format file for importing data. If the default file has not been copied prior to being replaced, it must be recovered from elsewhere.

Solution:
The file can be recovered in two ways: 1) Copy it from the Default DSL of another project. 2) Copy it from the $GF_PATH/ies_files/ directory. $GF_PATH is defined in a GeoFrame xterm. If the original file has been replaced in the $GF_PATH/ies_files directory, another may be obtained by calling GeoQuest Customer Support. The default export/import format files are initially created for a project when either the import or export options are accessed for the first time in the IESX Data Manager. The files are stored in the project's Default DSL (where the *.da file is located). When a user defined format file is created for exporting and then copied over one of the default format files for importing, it overwrites that default format file. The file is lost unless it has been saved before being overwritten. Note the file size difference between the *_ci7*.ifdf and *.ifdf files in GeoFrame and IESX 10.2. In GeoFrame the 3d_ci7.ifdf is 3254 bytes, in IESX 10.2 it is 3011 bytes. The difference is in the Header formats where the GeoFrame *_ci7*.ifdf file adds information on format file name, XY units, Z units (an additional 12 lines).
