How to load 2D navigation data after SEG-Y data has been loaded.
Description:
Solution:
Select Application > DataManager > Map > 2D load locations: 1.) In the center part of this window is a box to enter the File name to View/Load. Enter the full path and filename where the file resides on disk and click the 'View' button at the bottom of this window. The large lower box will display the data file. 2.) If you are using data in a pre-defined format, select the format definition from the list making sure to select the definition with the correct units. This format can be customized if your data is not in a pre-defined format. If column ranges need to be modified, use MB1 to highlight the data field in the 'viewed' file and click the 'thru' button. Beware that some data fields, e.g. line names and shotpoints, may be longer than displayed in the 'viewed' portion of the file. Check number of header records to skip prior to the actual navigation data and enter that number in the 'Header records to skip'. This can be verified using 'First record to start View' and clicking 'View' to redisplay the file. 3.) Click on the 'Survey' button, select the survey that the trace data was loaded into. 4.) You can choose to load 'all' lines or 'selected' lines from the file. If you set Line names to load to 'Select' you will be presented with a list to select lines from. 5.) Once you have made sure that everything is filled in correctly, click on the 'Load' button at the bottom center part of this window. A log file will be written to the users UNIX login directory 'sllx.....log'. Data can be verified on the Basemap, however, if this is a new survey, a new content file may need to be created and the map appearance updated.
