How to create a color table.
Description:
Solution:
1.) Edit > Scaled Map > Clear > Modify Colors > Color Table > Draw-Fill if
you have a grid posted. Otherwise click MB1 on the colored icon on the
left side of the screen.
You can now edit the colors.
It is useful to understand how MapView colors are organized.
- First 34 colors on the left are for things like lines and labels.
- Rest of colors are designated for grid coloring.
2.) a. To edit a color:
- Click mb1 on the color box of interest.
- Use mb1 to slide the Red, Green and Blue percentage bars until
you get the desired color.
b. To interpolate the color bar:
- Starting from the far left or right color box, click and drag with
cursor on all the color boxes you do NOT want to change, click on
the next color box to change, change the color, select the next
color box to interpolate to and change color, then select the next
color box NOT to change and click/drag cursor to end of color bar,
then select interpolate.
- After editing the color bar, select 'Selection complete'.
- If the color bar is not to your liking after editing, select 'Restore
original'.
- If you select 'Clear table', screen will turn black. Select 'Restore
original' will get you back to the original screen colors.
3.) Save Current - type in Color Map NAME and Decription (optional) and EXIT.
Note: If you just click on the color icon you won't be able to pick the color
range for the far right because of the "exit, quit, home" buttons on the
bottom right of the screen. To edit the full range of the color table
use the first set of steps of part #1.
