How to create an isochron map.
Description:
MapView can geneate isochrons from xyz data or from grids.
Solution:
To generate isochrons from xyz data:
1.) Read in both horizons.
2.) XYZ operations > Combine.
- Toggle XYZ operation to subtract.
- Toggle Input points to List.
- Key in a resultant surface name.
- Toggle Yes if either horizon has fault traces you want to keep.
- Exit.
- Select shallowest xyz horizon.
- Answer yes to the make current data question.
- Select deepest xyz horizon.
- Answer yes to the make current data question.
(Selecting shallowest first generates positive values.)
3.) Select contour icon to display.
To generate isochrons from grids:
1.) Grid both horizons.
2.) Grid operations > Combine.
- Toggle Grid operation to subtract.
- Toggle Input points to List.
- Key in a resultant surface name.
- Toggle fault, extent, and null handling as desired
- Exit.
- Select shallowest horizon.
- Answer yes to the make current data question.
- Select deepest horizon.
- Answer yes to the make current data question.
(Selecting shallowest first generates positive values.)
3.) Select contour icon to display.
