How to move a project to another location.
Description:
Solution:
Projects can be moved to another location using the combination of option #3
Delete data area in IESX_Util and IESX_patch. Deletion with IESX_Util/option
#3 deletes the project.da file and removes the project from the project list,
that is why it is crucial to copy the project.da file first.
To move a project to another location(s):
1.) Unshare seismic surveys from the project:
- DataManager/Seismic > Share (if sharing surveys).
2.) In an xterm, change directories (cd) to project DSL:
- Can find project DSL by Session Manager > Project > Update.
- Select project, first DSL listed is the project DSL.
3.) Copy (cp) the project_name.da to a project_name.da.sav and delete
the project with IESX_Util/option 3.
- Application Manager.
- set to "By release".
- select iesx_util.csh.
- select Start.
4.) IESX_Util
- Type in 3. Delete data area, hit return.
- Type y after 'Ok for continue?'
- Type in project name and password and hit return.
- Type in 99 to exit IESX_Util.
5.) Then repatch the project with IESX_patch. Look in 'How To' for IESX_patch
for procedure.
6.) Reshare the surveys in DataManager > Share.
NOTE: You can repatch a project having mutliple DSL's to one DSL or to more DSL's.
