How to copy well loading definition formats from one IESX project to another.

Description:

Solution:
1.) In the project which does not contain the format definition files a. Session Manager > Application > IES Data Management* b. Add data to project c. Add WELL data d. Add WELLS, PATHS, and/or FORMATION TOPS through CARD IMAGE input. (This will initialize the generic format definition files in the project.) e. EXIT out of IES Data Management, then back out of the project. 2.) At the UNIX level, copy the 'gcif.parms' and the 'gcif.def' files from the home DSL (see NOTE below to determine the home DSL of a project) of the project where you saved the loading definitions to the home DSL of the new project. Go back into the new project, and the saved format definition files will be listed for selection. NOTE: To find the home DSL of a project: 1.) Session Manger > Project > Update 2.) select the project from the list In the 'Selected data storage locations' list box, the first listing will be the unix path to the home dsl for the selected project but the project name will need to be added onto the unix pathname. For example, if the project name were 'test' and the first listing was '/home/data1/iesxroot', then the project home dsl would be /home/data1/iesxroot/test'. NOTE: When doing the UNIX copy of the 'gcif.*' files, any saved format defintion files in the receiving project will be replaced with those format definition files saved in the copied 'gcif.*' files. * IES Data Management is not a Motif-based application. Therefore you will use arrow keys and the Return key on your keyboard rather than the mouse. . To move across a screen and toggle through options, use the left and right arrow keys . To activate your selection(s) and return to the preceding screen, move the cursor to EXIT and press Return on your keyboard. . To return to the preceding screen without activating your selection(s), move the cursor to QUIT and press Return on your keyboard.
