Topic:
How to interpolate a horizon posted in Basemap?
Description:
Solution:
In Basemap: 1.) Mode > Horizon Interpolation 2.) Set the desired 'Interpolation parameters' by clicking on the 'Interpolation parameters' button; set the search direction, search tolerance and interpolation options. 3.) Select the mode of operation: a. if using 'Line' mode, click MB1 at the beginning point and the ending point you want interpolated (3D data will follow the section of the inline or crossline defined by the two MB1 clicks) b. if using 'Polygon' mode, define the polygon points on the basemap with MB1 and stop the polygon with MB3/Break; horizon interpolation will automatically begin within the defined polygon c. if using 'Paintbrush' mode (3D surveys only), define the size of the paintbrush by clicking the 'Define paintbrush' button, then click MB1 on the basemap for one corner of the paintbrush, and MB1 for the opposite corner; after the paintbrush is defined, click MB1 on the map to start the interpolation, and drag the paintbrush over the area you want interpolated d. Note: 'Fault trace polygon' mode is used for Mode > Horizon erase, and not Horizon interpolation 3.) The interpolated horizon will not be snapped, so you may want to snap the horizon. You can do this in Seis3DV/2DV under Areal > Snap.
