How to convert a fault to a horizon.
Description:
Want to convert a fault plane as defined by several fault segments into an
horizon in IESX.
Solution:
1) Post the fault segments then grid them using least squares algorithm so that
it does not extrapolate too far beyond segment ends;
2) Create a new surface of type Seismic Horizon and save the grid under the new
surface;
3) In DataManager > Surface cut, select the surface just saved > select the grid
> choose to convert grid to horizon attribute > type in TIME for the horizon
attribute. This will cut the fault grid back as an IESX horizon which can then
be posted on Basemap or seismic windows.
