How to add DSLs (disk storage locations) to a user.
Description:
New disks added to IESX under Administration > Workstation configuration,
need to be assigned to each IESX user.
Solution:
1) IESX Session Manager, select Administration > Configuration, and enter the
IESX Administrator password.
2) Select Data Storage Locations, and select the user you want to add disks to
from the list in the top left corner (if the user does not exist, type in
the user's unix account login id, and hit return, and this will create a
user account for IESX).
3) Once the user is selected, the user's assigned DSLs will show up in the
'List Directories' box. To simplify matters, select one of the user's DSLs
from the list, and it will populate the fields for 'Select disk' and 'Add
D.S.L. root'.
4) Now select the new disk from the 'Select disk' list, and modify the 'DSL
description'.
It is recommended that you maintain the D.S.L. path, which is typically
/iesxroot/
5) Add.
Note: If the iesxroot directory has not already been created on the disk, it
will be created here. If this returns an error, check the permissions for the
directory in which you are trying to create iesxroot.
6) Repeat step 4 for all of the disks you need to assign to the user.
7) Exit Administration.
