Information needed prior to project creation : 1.) Required project name and description. 2.) Project Projection and units. 3.) Approximate disk space. Project creation : 2.) IESX Session Manager > Project > Create. 3.) Enter a project name, password, and if desired a description. 4.) Select DSL's (Data Storage Locations) The first disk selected will be the 'home' DSL - After creation, additional DSL's can be selected or reordered as required but the home DSL can only be changed by re-patching the project. 5.) Click 'Create'. 6.) Define the Projection, Spheroid and Units of project, Enter Seismic reference elevation, project vertical reference datum and project horizontal reference datum. 7.) Click 'OK'. 8.) Dismiss 'Create Project' menu. 9.) Before adding data to project check Interp and Seismic DSL selection and spanning criteria : IESX Session Manager > Project > Update See: How to add more disk space to a project Helpful hint: be attentive to the disk spanning criteria located under Session Manager > Project > Update. There are a number of ways for spanning to occur. Two notes: a) Be careful if you have large disk space blocks available. Sun OS does not allow files larger than 2 GB to be created. If you are loading large 3D projects or expect large interpretation to be created, limiting disk space size now might be considered. b) Be careful not to set percentage free to high, 10% of a 25GB disk block is 2.5GB that will not be able to be used.
