How do I generate surface slices?
Description:
Solution:
Before you can generate surface slices, you must make sure that your volume is not shared. - From the IESX session manager, select DataManager - In DataManager, under Seismic select Share - Look in the Remove incoming references box, and if the volume you want to slice is listed, select it and select either Unshare or Disconnect Now you are ready to create surface slices. 1) From the IESX Session Manager, select DataManager. 2) In DataManager, under Seismic select SurfaceSlice. 3) Select the 3D survey and seismic class you wish to generate surface slices from (if any surface slices have been previously generated from this volume, their associated time ranges will be displayed in the Current Surface Slice Information dialog box). 4) If you do not wish to generate Surface slices over the entire cube, select Change Area (under Area of Operation), and adjust the inline, CDP and time range. Alternately, you can generate surface slices within a previously saved rectangular path by selecting the Path button. 5) Select your sample format and sample interval, and click on Generate (if you have already generated Surface slices for this volume over a different time range, you must specify the SAME sample rate as the slices already generated). This process may take some time, so for large volumes it is recommended to begin generation in the evening and let it run after you leave for the day. After the Surface Slices have been generated, re-share or re-connect to any projects you unshared or disconnected.
