How can you grid only in a user defined area?
Description:
How can you grid only in a user defined area and not
over the entire map area?
Solution:
In Basemap Plus -> Define -> Area of interest you can make an area
of interest polygon on the basemap. Mouse button 1 (MB1) selects the
points of the polygon, mouse button 2 (MB2) undoes the last point
selected, and mouse button 3 (MB3) brings up popup box (break,
save, undo and clear). Save and the area of interest you have
just defined will post. Then post or repost your interpretation and it will
only post within the user defined area. (To turn off the Area of Interest,
select Post -> Boundaries ->, and toggle off Post area of interest).
In gridding, you do not have to select any modeling boundaries
because the user defined area will automatically be taken into
account and the gridding will be done within the user defined area.
Note: The grids are made as a rectangular area, so if your grid
cell size is medium or coarse, you will get a semi-rectangular shape even
if your user defined area is circular.
