How to Surface Cut a grid back to a new horizon.
Description:
After gridding a horizon in Basemap Plus on a 3d survey, how do I copy the
horizon grid back to a IESX horizon to be viewed in Seis3DV/2DV.
Solution:
1. Post and grid Horizon.
2. Basemap Plus > Gridding > Save as... > Create new surface... >
- Select Name box, type in horizon name under Surface Information.
- Select Type box and toggle under New Sufaces "Type" to Seismic horizon.
- Select Color box and select color palette icon, select color.
- Source and Description are optional. If source is not specified,
GFDM (GeoFrame Data Manager) will be inserted.
- Select Apply, then OK.
3. Still in Basemap Plus > Save As >
- Type in Grid name and description (optional).
- Select new Output surface, then select OK.
4. Data Manager > Interpretation > Surface...
- Select survey in Define area.
- Select surface (select new surface name from step 2).
- Toggle Transfer mode to Surface grid => Horizon attribute.
- Select Grid (select new grid name from step 3).
- Type in attribute name (TIME)<<< has to be uppercase or will not work!
- Select OK.
NOTE: In GeoFrame 3.5 and beyond, the time attribute must be named Z.
Horizon is ready to be displayed in Seis2DV/3DV.
