How to export tops/markers from IESX.

Solution:
Output well marker data in the following format: Name, Well symbol code, X, Y API, Coordinate units (F or M), Kelly Bushing, Datum, Comment1, Comment 2, Top name, time If markers/tops were loaded via IES then skip to Step 2. If some markers/tops were loaded via IES and others via IESX run Step 2 and then rerun from Step 1. Step 1 - IESX > Session Manager > Application > DataManager > Wells > Markers 1.) Select All for Wells, Formations and Sources 2.) Click Export to IES a. Select All Formations and All Wells b. Set Export Depth = Both c. Highlight Sources d. Click large black down arrow e. Click Export f. Message "This will overwrite tar file, confirm?" This is a warning that the marker information stored in IES only will be overwritten. If marker data has already been imported from IES to IESX or does not exist or has already been exported, Confirm > Yes. g. Dismiss > Dismiss h. Exit the IESX project Step 2 - Enter IESX > Session Manager > Application > IES Data Management(*See note below) 1.) Select 6 - Execute Management Utilites 2.) Select 3 - Execute OS commands in a subprocess 3.) At the prompt type in , $TOOLS/info, and hit return 4.) Select 2 - Print Well Info a. Toggle 1- Frequency of well name = once b. Toggle 2- Z units to time or depth c. Toggle 3- Depth units to feet or meters d. Toggle 4- Format = tops e. The default output file in number 5 is called wellinfo.dat. This file is output to the project home dsl. NOTE: DON'T FORGET TO HIT RETURN AFTER CHANGING EACH OPTION OR IT WILL NOT UPDATE! f. Select Exit to execute the process. g. Select Exit to exit the menu then type exit at the prompt. Continue selecting exit until out of IES menus. h. Use Unix command to print the file. Step 3 - If well tops are listing as "NO" in the report, rerun the Print Well Info command and change the Z units option. Delete or rename your previous output file. Step 4 - If you continue to have problems getting the tops names to appear, you will have to perform an inventory rebuild in IES Data Management**, then enter IESX utilities and run option 81*** to resynchronize IES/IESX Well Information. When these are completed then return to Step 2 above. * IES Data Management is not a Motif-based application. Therefore you will use arrow keys and the Return key on your keyboard rather than the mouse. . To move across a screen and toggle through options, use the left and right arrow keys . To activate your selection(s) and return to the preceding screen, move the cursor to EXIT and press Return on your keyboard. .
