Topic:
How to work with inversion data.
Description:
I have two questions about working with inversion data:
1. Is there any special way to load inversion data?
2. Is there any special gain control setting for inversion data?
Solution:
1. Is there any special way to load inversion data?
Not really. You could do debias in the Computational Manager to make
the data look more like a normal seismic data class and get greater color
contrasts out of the default display in VI. But trace to trace impedance
information would be lost in the debiased class.
2. Is there any special gain control setting for inversion data?
To take the full advantage of the color bar, set Gain Control to min/max and
amplitude to 400 under Define > Display Spec in Seis2DV/3DV.
Some users feel the attached custom color map is particularly useful for
inversion data. You may copy in the color table below to a file and import it
into your project with IESX_Utils Option 36.
